Richard is currently the Dean of the School of Business, Hospitality & Media Arts at Confederation College. He has been involved in Academic Leadership for Confederation College for almost 10 years, holding Vice President Academic, Dean, Associate Dean and Chair roles over that time.
A first generation graduate of both the College and University systems with a Diploma in Accounting from Fanshawe College, an Honours Degree in History, a Bachelors Degree in Education, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Lakehead University, Richard sees the value and opportunities that education can provide.
Richard also loves to travel, which inspired him to study history in the first place. He and his wife have lived in England and Australia and have visited Greece, Italy, France, the Canary Islands and most recently Portugal and Morocco.
Although he grew up in the Ottawa Valley, Thunder Bay is definitely home now. He came here with his wife, who grew up just outside Kakabeka Falls, the village they have called home for over 15 years. They share two amazing children who love to go to Burchell Lake to enjoy camping and cabin life.
