Marissa Nieminen
Education & Outreach Coordinator
A love for museums and working with children has always been a big part of Marissa’s life. Whenever she travels to another city, she always tries to find and visit the local museums.
Marissa holds an Honours Bachelor Degree in English as well as a Bachelor Degree in Education specializing in Primary/Junior. Marissa also has her TESOL certification and is an Ontario Certified Teacher. She has many years of experience working with children, from working summer camps and teaching First Aid through St. John Ambulance, being an ESL teacher at Swallowdale Camp, as well an educator for daycares.
Marissa has been the Education and Outreach Coordinator of the Thunder Bay Museum since May 2017 where she plans and delivers programs to those between the ages of 3 and 103.
Outside of the museum, Marissa is a mother, loves fishing, crafting, playing video games, reading, and making cosplays!
