COVID-19 has changed all of our lives in profound ways.
The Thunder Bay Museum is interested in collecting photographs, documents, personal stories, media, and objects related to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
If you have things you would like to donate from your personal life, business you are part of, or organization or club you belong to please visit the links below for more information on how to do so.
If you have any questions, or have ideas to share, please email our Curator/Archivist. If you have a donation to offer to the museum that does not have to do with the COVID-19 Pandemic head to our Donate an Item page.
What we are looking for:
Personal Donations
Photos of your family or the people you cohabitate with during isolation. Ideally this photo would be taking in front of your residence. It would be interesting if you were also holding your prized possessions. All of these details will be invaluable to future historians as the study our material culture, living arrangements, architecture, and so forth during a digital age when these sorts of family photos are rarely taken anymore.
Business Related Stories & Donations
Photos of a business you frequent, manage, or own and how it has changed due to the Pandemic. Are there new signs, barriers of decoratively arranged shopping carts, or sneeze guards? Has a business closed temporarily or permanently? We want to document these impacts to the business community of the city.
Clubs & Organizations
Photos of a organization you participant in, work for, or manage and how it has changed due to the Pandemic. Are there new signs, barriers of decoratively arranged shopping carts, or sneeze guards? Has the organization closed temporarily or permanently? Are events taking place virtually? We want to document these impacts to the clubs and organizations of the city.
We don’t want to limit you
If there are other photos you wish to donate that help tell your story during the Pandemic certainly send those along as well.
