This artifact is a bottle of Hirst’s Pain Exterminator. Hirst’s Remedy Co. began in Hamilton Ontario with this particular bottle dating back to approximately 1910. The Pain Exterminator was said to cure virtually all ailments, with many of the bottles declaring “good news to the afflicted!” It was said to cure ailments such as rheumatism, sciatica, toothache, earache, sore throat, and many more!
