This Meccano plane is from around 1925 and is made up of 50 components to make any of 6 possible airplane models. The Meccano sets were created in 1898 by Frank Hornby.
These models consisted by metal plates, strips, girders, axles, gears, and wheels that were connected with nuts and bolts. Meccano only needed a wrench and a screwdriver to put the models together.
Meccano taught children the basics of mechanics and you can still buy Meccano sets today!
